Monaco will play one final unexpected Granollers

The Argentine Juan Monaco defeated against all odds to Spanish David Ferrer 7-5, 1-6, 6-3 and will play an unexpected Valencia Tournament final to Marcel Granollers, who hours earlier had also a surprise to John Martin of Potro.

Monaco and Ferrer had shared the victories in the previous six meetings between the two, but Spanish, finalist of the last 1,000 and reigning Masters Tournament was the heavy favorite.

The world number 5 had at various stages of the game everything going for him to repeat last year's final against Granollers but paid dearly for his lack of concentration in certain phases of a feisty match against Monaco, who never gave up.

Marcel Granollers, meanwhile, will play for the second consecutive final in Valencia after adding a new big win, this time against Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro 6-3, 7-6 (4).

The Barcelona player added a new male to its passing by the Valencia tournament, which has also left in the lurch level players Alexandr Dolgopolov, Marin Cilic and Gael Monfils.

And that started the semi-final Granollers are marking the Argentine, very strong and dominating service with his right.

However, the first two break points' which was available Del Potro woke the Spanish tennis player, who used to serve-volley that such success has given throughout the tournament and the script of the game changed.
