The former caddy for Tiger Woods will not be punished for his racist insults

New Zealander Steve Williams, Tiger Woods excaddie the U.S. and currently with the Australian Adam Scott, has finally been punished for his racist remarks about former tennis world number one after a meeting in China.

After the final round of the WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai, Williams, who was with Woods in 13 of his 14 tournament wins 'big', made derogatory remarks during the awards gala in front of the HSBC Champions European Tour chief George O'Grady, and the U.S. PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem said his intention when Akron was "black fan that asshole."

The two leaders subsequently distanced themselves from the view of New Zealand and issued a joint statement on behalf of the PGA on the incident. "The International Federation of PGA Tour believes very strongly that there is no place for any form of racism in this or any other sport. Steve Williams's statements are completely unacceptable in any context," he said in a statement.

Apologies valid for the PGA
"We know he has apologized completely and hope that we will not hear such comments again. On this basis, we consider the matter closed, and we have no further comment," they added.

The Australian Scott, for whom it acts as a caddy from New Zealand in August, hopes the issue has been settled. "I hope now that everyone has said that the matter is closed and we hope to move forward," he said.

Williams and apologized in a statement Saturday. "I feel the words I spoke yesterday-Friday-night. Now I realize that my comments may be considered racist. I apologize to Tiger and everyone who was offended," he said.
