Federer shines at home

Roger Federer made a respectable delight in the final of Basel to overwhelm Kei Nishikori in two rounds. This is the second title of the Swiss in 2011, the fifth in his home and the sixty-eighth of his career.

Roger Federer won with authority to Kei Nishikori by an aggregate score of 6-1, 6-3 in one hour and thirteen minutes. The Swiss, idol of the masses in Basel, signed a perfect first set in which he managed two breaks (first and fifth game play) and yielded only one point on his serve. A new break in the sixth game of the second act was enough to put the nail Roger a party that had little history. Great feeling for a player who does not pass its peak (number 4 of the ATP ranking), but you always have to consider.

The title of Basel is the second of the season for Federer after his win in Doha earlier this season. It is also the fifth time that the Swiss savor the sweetness of success at home (2006, 2007, 2008, 2010). Roger, with 797 victories on the payroll, he approaches the 806 who managed to Stefan Edberg in his day.
