Vergne makes hat-trick in Abu Dhabi

Jean-Eric Vergne returned to extend the run of Red Bull and dominated for the third consecutive day test young drivers in Abu Dhabi, which concluded at the Yas Marina circuit with a time closer to the pole of Sebastian Vettel of last Saturday.

The Frenchman signed a best lap of 1:38.917 in the morning round that left him nearly five-tenths of 1:38.481 with which the past world champion Saturday equaled the record of 'poles' of Nigel Mansell to finish first for the fourteenth time this year.

His time was stratospheric ozone and British rivals Sam Bird (Mercedes), which was testing components for 2012, was second to almost two seconds, while Jules Bianchi (Ferrari), second in the first two days of training, had to settle with the third.

Moreover, the Czech Jan Cherouz HRT changed by Renault and finished tenth, while the Spanish team Nathanael Berthon was twelfth after completing 51 laps in his first full day as a tester, and on Wednesday gave only nine laps of the tracing.
