Suzuki World Cup is withdrawn at least until 2014

Suzuki said in a statement its decision to withdraw temporarily from the MotoGP World Championship. "This suspension of sporting activity is given by a number of circumstances such as prolonged recession in economic issues, the historical appreciation of the yen and also by natural disasters, in allusion to the earthquake and tsunami that struck the eastern part of Japan - "said the note.

In the same text states that "Suzuki has one eye on his return to MotoGP in 2014 with a new machine developed specifically for the sport."

"Suzuki will continue its activity in other specialties like motocross motorcycles and supporting sprint series with bikes to get approvals FIM (International Motorcycling Federation) and the manufacturers of equipment for the competition," adds the note issued.
