The City fined over a million euros to Tevez

Manchester City beat Argentine striker Carlos Tevez a fine of more than one million euros and two-week suspension for refusing to play in a match of the Champions League.

Following an investigation which lasted a month and which has interviewed staff members and the coaching staff, the club has determined that the Argentine international refused to jump into the field when "citizens" lost 2-0 to Bayern Munich on 27 September, the club announced today in a statement.

Under the fine imposed on the player, unprecedented in English football, Tevez, 27, will collect four weeks of their salary , ie one million pounds (1.15 million euros).

As for the suspension of two weeks , the club considers that the striker has already met her when she was dropped from the team after the Champions League match in which he refused to play.

Although Tevez is ready to come back with the team two weeks ago, coach, Roberto Mancini, has not returned to be included in a call from that incident.

The disciplinary committee of the Manchester City informed in writing, both the player and the Professional Footballers' Association of England (AFP), which considers that Tevez has failed five contractual obligations.

Obligation to play

Among its failures, stresses the "obligation to participate in any game for which you selected" and the "act according to the instructions of any top club who are within the law."

In addition to appeal the decision of the City, for which it has a period of fourteen days, Mancini Tevez could sue for defamation in statements made by the coach after the Champions League encounter, according to sources close to the front above the chain BBC public.

" He refused (Tevez) to warm up and play . If a player receives so much money to play with Manchester City can never refuse to jump the field. If we improve as a team, can not continue playing with us is finished with me, " Mancini.

Moreover, Argentina's refusal to play against Bayern came just days after the club informed him that will not charge a premium of six million pounds (6.8 million) provided in his contract, as revealed by the newspaper "The Guardian".

Manchester City are willing to listen to offers for the player in the market for winter, but now refuses to lower the price he expected to get for him last summer, about 35 million pounds (40 million euros).

Tevez Strikes

Carlos Tevez is considering reporting to their coach, Roberto Mancini, for defamation after the technician to ensure that the player had refused to jump into the game field in the Champions League against Bayern Munich, which he denies and is which has been sanctioned.
