Alvaro Quiros wins the Dubai Champions Final

Alvaro Quiros historic win in the final European Tour that was played in Dubai. The Cadiz achieved in the Jumeirah Golf Estates most important victory of his career and the most outstanding Spanish golf in the last three years. Pablo Larrazabal also Spanish ended in tenth place, while Sergio Garcia did in the eleventh, nine strokes Quirós.

Alvaro Quiros achieved this victory in style, with an 'eagle' (two less) on the final hole of his round. Quiros was able to withstand the pressure that the Scot Paul Lawrie submitted from the outset, although the two were tied hole 13. The Spanish, who last week also reached the final round leading Open Hong Kong, however learned to keep a cool head in these momentous times and end their involvement with an 'eagle', two strokes less.

The Spanish golfer adds his second win of the season after Dubai gained in the Classic Dessert mid-February and his sixth victory on the European Tour since turning professional in December 2004.

The third place after Lawrie was for English Luke Donald , three strokes behind the winner.
