Van Nistelrooy, top scorer of the first decade of the century

Ruud van Nistelrooy, Malaga striker currently and formerly of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Hamburg, is the best striker in the world of the first decade of the century (2001-2010), according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).

Van Nistelrooy accumulates 86 points, one ahead of Frenchman Thierry Henry, and closes the podium with 83 Didier Drogba. Germany's Miroslav Klose (81) and Samuel Eto'o (79) follow in the table, and the best Spanish are the top scorers in the history of selection, Raul Gonzalez, eighth with 71, and David Villa, ninth with 68.
