Ultimatum to the players: no treatment, other proposals will be much worse

The "take it or leave it" by Peter Holt a few weeks ago the players has become child's play compared with the ultimatum that David Stern has given the union: If you do not accept an agreement of 50-50 in the distribution BRI by Wednesday at five o'clock in the afternoon (local time), to prepare for the rest of future proposals will be radically worse.

The NBA commissioner has urged the players to close the BRI-sharing agreement on a 50-50 and it could become a 49-51 for players, but as calculated by the players union would come to 50 , 2 in the best.

"I think we have put a great offer on the table and what they have told the players is that it's getting late. It is more rational to agree because seeing how is our industry and our business is all downhill from from here, "said Stern told ESPN in an interview.

If no agreement to end the lockout on Wednesday signed a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA), the position of the owners of the NBA will worsen and since then the proposal will get worse.

According to leaked to the New York Times, the future new proposal to the floor would be quite detrimental to the players:

1. The offer in the distribution of BRI would go from a 50-50 (49-51 at best for the players, who previously had a 57%) to 53-47 for the owners (ie 10% less for players on the previous CBA).

2. There shall be a harder cap (would include the concept of luxury superlevy fines of up to three dollars per dollar exceeded)

3. The current existing contracts in force would also suffer a snip

4. The existing agreement for the 'midlevel exception' of 5 million annually for four seasons happen to be 3 million a year and a maximum of three campaigns

5. Limit the maximum salary is based on years in the league

6. It would reduce the duration of contracts to four seasons for the players Larry Bird rights and three for the remaining free agents. Of course, the franchise could sign a player for five seasons.

If players do not accept the 50-50 sharing what they know and adhere. If no agreement on Wednesday canceled the entire season? Stern is emphatic: "I would say that suspended the season because clearly we have not reached that point and they do not want to sound like a threat"
